Assigning an Officer or Agency to a Dispatch

1.   To assign an iDispatch officer or an external agency to a dispatch, click Add Officer or Add Agency (or Edit) in the Dispatch Entry form.

2.   The Dispatch Assignment Entry form appears.

Quickly assign an officer to an existing dispatch by dragging an available officer from the Officer List to a dispatch in either the in progress or pending section. If you assign an officer to a pending dispatch, it is moved to the in progress section.

3.   Complete the following fields:

Field

Description

Officer Name /
Agency Type

Select an officer (or agency type) to assign to the dispatch. Only available officers appear in the dropdown list.

Personnel Number /
Agency Name

The personnel ID number (if any) assigned to the selected officer, or the agency name.

Role

Indicates whether the officer/agency is the Primary responder for the dispatch, or Assisting.

Departure Location Code

Represents the location of the officer/agency when dispatched.

Departure Location

Description of the departure location.

Dispatch Time

Defaults to the time you opened this form to assign an officer/agency, but you can type a different time, or click the down arrow to select a different time.

Arrival Time

The time the officer/agency arrived on the scene. Defaults to the current time when you select the option box within the field, but you can type a different time, or click the down arrow to select a different time.

To specify this value without opening this form, click Arrived in the Officers List section of the Current Dispatches tab of the iDispatch grid.

Clear Time

The time the officer finished at the scene. Defaults to the current time when you select the option box within the field, but you can type a different time, or click the down arrow to select a different time.

To specify this value without opening this form, click Cleared in the Officers List section of the Current Dispatches tab of the iDispatch grid.

Arrival Code

Displays a code indicating the type of arrival on the scene. When you select a code, the Arrival Time is automatically specified as the current time, but you can change it.

To specify this value without opening this form, click Arrived in the Officers List section of the Current Dispatches tab of the iDispatch grid, then select from the list of codes.

Clear Code

Displays a code indicating the type of departure from the scene. When you select a code, the Clear Time is automatically specified as the current time, but you can change it.

To specify this value without opening this form, click Cleared in the Officers List section of the Current Dispatches tab of the iDispatch grid, then select from the list of codes.
