Defining General Settings

These settings apply to all users; choose Tools » Global Settings » General Settings.

Idleness Timeout

Sets the time interval to automatically log out users.

Report Paper Size

Sets the page size for reports.

Media Attachments

Specify the file size at which a warning will be issued and the maximum file size.

Database Size Limits

Specify the file size at which a warning will be issued and the maximum file size.

Turn On Personnel Custom Tab

Makes the Custom tab available in the Personnel Profile form.

Make New Personnel/Subject/
Contact/Vehicle Records Global

Makes new records global (accessible to all users) unless overridden in the Document Control tab of the record.

Turn On Subject Exclusivity

Permits users with appropriate permission to assign exclusivity in the Subject's Document Control tab.

Hide Disabled User Users flagged as Disabled will be hidden by default in the Users grid of the Administration module.

Last Visited Module as Start Up Module

iTrak will open to the last module visited the last time you logged in.

Turn On Quick Search Time Limit

Restricts the Look For search to the specified number of months.

Turn On Long Query Tracing

Long query tracing logs database requests that take more than the specified period of time, measured in seconds. Omnigo uses this as a diagnostic tool to help optimise databases.

Email tab

Use this tab to configure client and server email notifications.

Error Report tab

Error messages normally are sent automatically to Omnigo Technical Support. If you wish to have them directed elsewhere, for example to your own IT department, enter the email address on the Error Report tab. If this field is blank the error messages will be sent to Omnigo.

Localization tab

Select the languages that users can select from for the iTrak interface in their User Settings, and indicate which one will be used by default unless changed in the User Settings.

The Culture Settings determine the date, time, and currency formats used in iTrak. These preferences are associated with a particular language and locale ("culture"), allowing, for example, users who work in UK English to use different formats than those who work in US English. Users can choose their preferred culture in the User Settings and may then override the default Date and Time but not the currency formats.

Description

Minimum Length

If selected, user passwords must be at least the specified length.

Failed Logon Limit

If a user fails to log on successfully after the number of attempts specified here, he or she must contact an administrator to reset his or her password.

Expires Every

If selected, users are prompted to change their passwords at the specified intervals, unless exempted at an individual user level.

Requires Mixed Case

If selected, user passwords must contain both upper and lower case letters.

Requires Numbers

If selected, user passwords must contain numbers as well as alphabetic characters.

Requires Symbols

If selected, user passwords must contain symbol characters as well as alphabetic characters.

No Reuse of Previous Passwords

When users change their passwords, they cannot revert to passwords used earlier.

Active Directory Authentication

Enables Microsoft Active Directory Services Interface (ADSI). When ADSI is enabled, users are authenticated when they log in to Windows.

Select Allowable Domains

Select one or more Windows network domains that users will be able to log in to from.

Turn On Auto Logon

When a user launches the system with this option enabled, no logon form appears. The application appears automatically.

Spell Check tab

Select the spell checking options.

Visualization tab

If using the iTrak Business Intelligence dashboard, enter its URL.
