Adding Participants to Incidents

The Participants tab allows you to add any individuals that are involved in the incident file. These may include offenders, witnesses, victims, complainants, etc. A role for each participant can also be added such as witness, victim, etc. The tab label reflects the number of participants involved in the incident file.

If an incident was created from an iDispatch record, the assigned officer is automatically added to the Participants tab. See Updating a Dispatch Record.
If an incident was created from an audit, all audit participants are added to the Participants tab. See Creating an Audit.
Any persons added to a custom form are added to the Participants tab. See Attaching a Custom Form to a Record.

When attaching participants to an incident, the iTrak system allows you to assign their role and other information about their involvement in the incident.

Tip: To change a contact or personnel participant to a subject, so that you can collect more detail and maintain the person as a fully trackable subject, including incident history, select the participant and click Escalate. If you escalate a contact, the corresponding contact record will be deleted from the Contact grid and added to the Subjects grid, with a category of Escalated. If you escalate a personnel, the personnel record remain intact.
