Creating a Related Incident

The related incident option allows incidents on the iTrak system to be related. For example, if an initial incident such as a water leak on an upper floor in a hotel then results in further water damage on lower floors, the incident can be related showing the logical connection between them and the time the related incident occurs. When incidents are related, a new incident file is created, but a new related incident file tab appears on both the initial incident and all related incidents allowing the user to track the escalation and further details.

To create an incident file entry:

1.   Open the initial Incident file. Choose Actions ยป Create Related.

2.   A new incident is created; complete the information the same as described in Creating an Incident.

3.   When you are finished, click Save.

Incidents cannot be made related if they are both already entered into iTrak. Instead, link the records on the Attached Records tab. For more information, see About the Incident File Form.
